The Next Doctor
I managed to download The Next Doctor yesterday evening, and I loved it. Here are just a few of my thoughts on it.
-My only problem with it was really the gigantic Cyberman. Reminded me more of either something the Power Rangers would face, or a Transformer. Other than that, I loved the episode. It’s so much better than Voyage of the Damned, even with that problem.
-Did they really upgrade cats? I couldn’t figure out what those things were, but they reminded me of The Gentlemen’s companions in the straitjackets—from Buffy, when everyone had their voices stolen. Just the way they walked, I guess.
-I love Morrissey’s portrayal of Jackson Lake. I read somewhere that Morrissey and Tennant were in a show called Blackpool together, and I’m going to see if I can track it down now.
-I loved that we got to see every single Doctor, even if it is just a memory holder. I was glad to see McGann and Eccleston in there.
-I like that the Doctor accepted Jackson’s invitation of going to Christmas dinner--I also loved Jackson’s reaction to the TARDIS, and his telling everyone to thank the Doctor.
-I wonder...did Jack happen to see the giant Cyberman stomping through London? Or did he get stuck in London after that point? *heads for Wikipedia to check* Think of the massive amounts of Retcon needed in this situation!
-As I expected, within 30 minutes of the episode airing in the UK, there was at least one Jackson/Doctor fanfic out there.
-I'll start downloading the Confidential in a few minutes.
