I couldn't figure out a way for the Doctor to carry a baguette and pie around while a marionette without breaking his hand off, so I eventually had Ianto, Donna, and Martha leave Jack and the Doctor (who were arguing about whether or not he could carry anything, or move fast enough) for a moment, go off, and stop the aliens...before Martha goes back in and tells them to come on out, since the battle's done.

Looks like I've finished the fanfic now. It's 3836 words, and I'll go through one more time checking for errors tomorrow, before I finally send it to a beta reader.
