Happy Halloween!
The Scary/Funny History of Horror Comedy.

doctorwho, there’s a question about who would do what if everyone in the series went to go see The Rocky Horror Picture Show. I can picture the Ninth Doctor brooding in the corner, while simultaneously keeping an eye on Jack. Who would be dressed as Rocky. I can picture Martha surprising everyone with the fact she is a closet Rocky Horror fan, and knows every word in the movie. I can see Donna surprising people (especially the Tenth Doctor, who would be in awe) by flawlessly doing the Time Warp.
Today’s Halloween related poll over atpolloftheday was asking what your favorite Halloween songs are. Mine are Thriller, Bad Moon Rising, the Ghostbusters theme (of course), and The Monster Mash. If I Put A Spell On You is the same song that was sung in Hocus Pocus, then I love that one, too.
Mom’s been going through some old pictures she found, and we found a picture of me the final year I went trick-or-treating, when I was either 7 or 8. I was a pirate, without the fake earring, since it pinched too much. I’m standing in a yard filled with fake tombstones, made by a neighbor. All the names on it are people in her family that were still alive...and Dracula.
We also found a picture of White Cloud, the day she came to us as a kitten. And another taken one month before she was killed—so now we know how long she was here. About 3 years--we hadn’t been sure until now. We found various other pictures of her, all of her asleep. Which is pretty much the only thing she ever did.

1. Why "calliopes_pen"?
Since I didn’t like Faith from Buffy, and my interested in Star Trek was pretty much dead by that point, I needed a better username. Since I’ve loved Greek mythology since I was 2, and that would probably never change, I wanted something from there. And I like to write both in fanfic and RPG’s, so I added pen to the end. In Greek mythology, Calliope was the muse of epic poetry. Worked better than any of the other muses, and wasn’t over the character limit.
2. For that matter, why faith of borg? And why the change?
At the time I registered, I couldn’t think of a good username that wasn’t taken. I finally combined the old interest in Star Trek I had (I heard about LJ via TrekBBS) and something from Buffy.
3. I'm always impressed by people who have such extensive fandom lists. I can really only keep track of one at a time! How do you do it?
Some of the fandoms are slower than others, so there’s not as much to look through. That, and I guess I’m just good at multitasking.
4. Do you have a story (fanfic or otherwise) that you enjoy reading over and over? Which is it?
Fanfic-wise, I always tend to go back to Archangel Redeemed, when I want to read something in the Highlander fandom. It deals with the Ahriman story better than the series did. That’s the only thing I can think of at the moment.
5. It's you, David Tennant, and a half gallon of chocolate fudge ice cream. What do you do first?
First thing to be done is probably throw out the chocolate fudge ice cream—ice cream is just disgusting to me, and so is chocolate. I would probably end up locking the poor man in the room, and ask him question after geeky question. We would either bond over our geekiness, or he would run screaming into the night once he escaped.
As there are Trunk-or-Treats being done at four different churches, as well as a fall festival at another church, I don’t expect to see any trick-or-treaters. I actually haven’t seen any trick-or-treaters in this part of the street in 2 or 3 years. How many do people on my friends list normally get?
