Fannish Items, Plus An RPG Meme

10 Superhero Buddy Movies We’d Love To See. Kitty Pryde and Wolverine made the list, but not Booster Gold and Beetle Beetle. Quite a few suggested the latter in the comments.

A certain infamous church wants to protest ComicCon. Why? Idol Worship. They believe geeks shouldn’t worship the false idols of comics. Mom had the fantastic idea to turn the ones dressed as Klingons loose on them. Things would be settled rather quickly. That, or turn the scariest of the fans in other fandoms loose on them.

Found this meme on various places on my friends list, and finally decided to post it. As I currently only play Meggan, I’ll answer all the questions with her in mind. The numbering was off (and one question repeated) but I think I’ve managed to fix that, as well as removing the duplicate question.

Pick one of my characters and I'll answer the following questions about him or her.

1. What would your character kill for? What would they die for?

I’m pretty sure Meggan would die for her friends or anyone in her family if it came to that. I don’t know if she would be able to go through with killing anyone. If she did, it would have to be under extreme circumstances, and massive amounts of guilt would follow.

2. What would they refuse to do under any circumstances? Why?

I really don’t know. It would depend on what the situation was for her. Maybe kill, with the reasoning from the answer to the first question.

3. What do they dream about?

I’m not sure if this means goals/aspirations or what she dreams at night. Meggan dreams about ridiculous things, in cartoon form, I would imagine. Popcorn raining from the sky, things like that. They get progressively stranger with the more cheese she eats. If she gets a snack of a tiny bit of electricity before bed, they get even more outrageous.

4. What's their biggest fear?

I’m not sure whether this question means phobia, or just a general dread of something. I’m going with the assumption of the latter. Meggan has two main ones for the biggest fear. Getting thrown in a cage and put on display again, maybe mixed with a vague unease in tightly enclosed spaces. It doesn’t really count as claustrophobia, though. Oh, and and Selene. With the latter, it’s more Selene coming back to hurt everyone again. She doesn’t think it will happen, but it’s there.

5. What single object would they be most hard pressed to part with? Why?

Her copy of Treasure Island. That book’s probably never very far from her. It’s not going anywhere unless it’s to replace it once all the pages fall out and it’s a complete mess.

Before Selene destroyed it, the answer would have included the monkey charm bracelet Amanda gave Meggan for her birthday. Until then, she rarely took it off, and loved it.

6. What is their fondest memory?

Maybe when she and Jake plotted on how to make an entrance to the prom in 2009, with him shapeshifting to look like Elijah Wood. With them agreeing to shift to multicolored monstrosities (finishing with plaid) just to mess with everyone. She had a wonderful time and thanked him with as much sugar and chocolate and cheesecake as he could handle. Even if the event wasn’t logged, the plotting of it between the characters via e-mail was funny.

7. What is their worst memory?

There are quite a few contenders for that one. I would have to say at this point in her life it’s Selene locking her up in her own head, and playing puppetmaster with her for a while. A cage in her head vaguely reminiscent of being locked up for real. She wasn’t able to say what she wanted to or do what she wanted to, or beg for help after a certain point, and she hated every single moment of it.

8. What or who was their most significant influence?

Kurt, Amanda, Margali and the rest of the Szardos Clan getting her out of the freakshow. Everyone she met in the mansion shortly after she arrived once she got out of there—they could all be considered influences of some sort.

9. What do they believe makes a successful life?

At this point in her life, she doesn’t know. She’s just going with what feels right.

10. Who is the person they despise the most, and why?

Currently, I can’t think of anyone Meggan has interacted with that currently resides in the mansion that would apply to. Years ago, of course, the answer would be Manuel.

11 What is their greatest strength?

Her love for her family. She’ll do what she can for them, and try her best to comfort them if they’re in bad shape. If it’s in her power to help in any way, she’ll try. She’s also very loyal, and won’t leave a friend behind if she knows they’re in trouble. She might get injured, but she’ll try to help.

12. Do they have a fatal flaw? If so, what is it?

Maybe not telling Kurt and Amanda everything she should? Since she never told about the whole getting trapped inside the Dungeons and Dragons mess—she didn’t want to upset them or get anyone in trouble. She might not tell unless someone else brings it up now, since Nick died when they were trapped, but not really once they were all out of there. She wouldn’t want to upset Kurt about that. She’s also too obedient at times, which could get her hurt.

She forgets to tell other people if her powers have done something new and interesting. Thus leading to others freaking out when she’s testing whatever it was. That’s not really a fatal flaw, though, it’s just her.

13. If they died, who would miss them most? How would they die?

While I’m not sure of the details of how Meggan would end up dying, I would say her family would miss her the most.

14. Are they happy in the relationship they're in, or are they wishing for something more?

As of right now, Meggan hasn’t been in a relationship.
