Peter Sallis was one of those unavoidable actors in the UK, thanks to Last of the Summer Wine, and Wallace & Gromit, but he was always very good in everything. I've caught him incidentally in quite a lot of my old telly series.
t appears Sallis was also in an episode of Mystery And Imagination in 1970, for an adaptation of Sweeney Todd, as Brogden/Mundel/Hopkins; from what I can determine, this might be one of the few episodes to have survived (along with Dracula 1968), although I haven’t been fortunate enough to locate it.
Yes, it exists. It's on the DVD, although I haven't watched it because I really really don't do Sweeney Todd. I really do wish I could lend you my DVD, but unfortunately not only are we an ocean apart, you wouldn't be able to play them if I did.
