Big Cat Problem
Does anyone know how to get rid of a stray cat that wants to live with you? The past two nights, a cat has been showing up. Now, it won't leave. (I patted it once on the head, because it wouldn't get out of my way--it won't leave now.)
Mom and I tried dumping a bowl of water on its head. Didn't work. We tried scaring it. Didn't work, and it came back.
Any suggestions for getting it to leave and never come back? It's incredibly needy.
ETA: I also let it walk with me when I went to visit the neighbor's dog. The dog went insane and barked and snarled. The cat just meowed hatefully at me. So, it's not afraid of dogs--and Toby doesn't like that one.

Other than that I can't really help. Strays that didn't want to leave ended up... not leaving, ever so I'm not exactly one to give fine advice on the matter. Good luck though.

If it's needy and starving enough that it keeps coming back even if you mistreat it, the kindest thing would be to take it to a shelter. Even if they put it down it's gotta be better than living like that.
