A Familiar Meme...

This meme has been around my Friends List a lot of times before. Here it is again, anyway. This is the 7th post of it, I believe.

1. Comment with any ship [or character] from a fandom that you know I like, or at least have some knowledge about.

2. I will ramble for about 100 words (I may go over a bit) about the aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on what it is.

Okidokie, since you don't have anything upcoming in the world of essays, hows about a couple of ships we see mentioned online a bit...

Since there's no other answers I'll ask two so you get a bit to write about...

Barbara Gordon/Dinah Lance (Oracle/Black Canary); and
Bobby Drake/Jean-Paul Beaubier (Iceman/Northstar)

Barbara Gordon/Dinah Lance.

Judging by a lot of comics, they were friends before Batgirl became Oracle. They helped each other out on occasion.

After becoming Oracle, and expanding her network of heroes, Barbara refriended Dinah. After a storyline where Babs was on the run from people who wanted her dead, Oracle and Black Canary were finally able to meet face-to-face.

Of course, that was because Dinah rescued her from drowning. The accompanying comics image (shown in my icon) has definitely spawned a lot of fanfics, and made quite a few think that the pairing is obvious. (scans_daily is proof of that.)

Together they are great friends. They can help each other overcome anything. Babs got through to Dinah when Dinah went insane after a quick dip in a Lazarus Pit. Dinah managed to get through to Babs when she was possessed by Brainiac.

As far as I have seen, they always stick by each other.

And now, Bobby Drake/Jean-Paul Beaubier. I honestly never thought of this pairing until you mentioned it on ICQ. I'm not sure if they would make a good couple, since I don't think I've seen much of either of them in the comics that I've read.

(Except for Alpha Flight vs. X-Men--the first one, back in the 80's. Rogue realized Jean-Paul was gay after accidentally absorbing his mind and powers.)
