I managed to find both series for sale on Ebay a few weeks ago. It just takes a lot of work to find a good price, since most of the auctions end up as bidding wars. I also managed to find season 1 as a Bittorent. (I also ended up deleting for space reasons.)
When Real Ghostbusters was around, I was 5. I watched it every Saturday morning and loved it. Most of them definitely still hold up.
With Extreme Ghostbusters, it aired right before I had to leave for high school. 6:30 AM, I think. I almost never knew it existed, until I caught a few reruns.
