Last year, I think we had 1 or 2. Both were grandkids of a neighbor's, so that's the only reason why.
However, I just found out that when my church hosted Trunk or Treat this year, they had so many kids show up that they ran out of candy three times, and--while they had at least 10 or 12 people helping out--there weren't nearly enough people handing out candy.
They didn't give an exact number, but since they ran out of room, I would say it was in the hundreds.
Oh, and a few parents apparently said the reason they weren't going from street to street was because it just didn't feel safe out there anymore.
