We had a grand total of 0 trick-or-treaters last night. Of course, the owner of the used bookstore I always go to got 50—and she says they kept coming even after she had turned out the lights.
The reason we didn’t get any over here, is probably because everyone on this street is grown up, and only two people had their lights on—here, and the person across the street. And there were at least six—maybe seven—churches doing a Trunk-Or-Treat thing this year. That, plus downtown they blocked off quite a few streets, so the trick-or-treaters could go there without the risk of being run down by a car.

wendymr is now accepting prompts (which are being screened) for the OT3 ficathon. You can find the rules (and add a few prompts) here.

However, I just found out that when my church hosted Trunk or Treat this year, they had so many kids show up that they ran out of candy three times, and--while they had at least 10 or 12 people helping out--there weren't nearly enough people handing out candy.
They didn't give an exact number, but since they ran out of room, I would say it was in the hundreds.
Oh, and a few parents apparently said the reason they weren't going from street to street was because it just didn't feel safe out there anymore.
