I do not think it is possible to describe the plot line in detail without notes or preparation. THE COUNT OF MONTE CRISTO is one of those books where the main character's plan is insanely devious and convoluted to begin with, and only becomes more so as new subplots are added and half the supporting characters turn out to be out for revenge, too.

It is, of course, awesome.
