Fannish Items of Interest
For those that are interested, we’ve gotten our first look at how Matt Smith’s Doctor will be dressed—and the full name (Amy Pond) of his redheaded companion. I’ve seen reactions and rage, and glee from my friends list already. I must say that I like the tweed and bow tie. Dad was looking over my shoulder as I read it, and said that he wanted the girl as the Doctor, just because it would make the man have a nervous breakdown...but he would finally be ginger. And I can’t wait to see what Jack’s reaction to him would be.
Mom doesn’t like the outfit—so I showed her the Sixth Doctor. She says it’s better than that, at least, but she still loves the Tenth Doctor. She wants his coat, but she’s too short for it.
In other news, John Barrowman was in a car going 80 mph when it crashed. Apparently, this happened weeks ago, but it’s only coming out now because the show that has it is airing soon. So first he gets his ankle messed up, and then there’s that. Not the best time for him.
Oh, and Mom’s been trying to grow some bell peppers. She went out this morning, and the plant was fine, and huge. She went out a few minutes ago, and half the plant was gone--the entire top half, and part of the bell pepper had been eaten, and the culprit was still there. In the middle of eating the rest. It’s a tobacco worm—the thing is huge, thick and neon green. Looked like one of the peppers at first. Ick. Do a Google Image search on tobacco worm, and see what a nightmare they are for yourself. Dad’s trying to kill it—he finally gave up, and got it in a plate, to take a few houses down.
