Fannish Items of Interest
BoingBoing has an exclusive interview with David Tennant and RTD. You can watch it here—there’s at least one slight casting spoiler, for someone returning. Just warning anyone that might be avoiding all spoilers. RTD had to be stopped before he spoiled anything else. It’s a 19 minute interview.
Io9 discusses what shows people are hooked on, and recommends a few. After reading the comments over there, I’m considering tracking down the tv series of Invisible Man. Is it worth it? Farscape gets a mention—might try to get through the first episode one last time one of these days.
TV Shows We Wish Would Swap Writing Staffs. The best one to me is Torchwood and Dollhouse swapping writers.
The Science Fiction Sitcoms That Never Were. While the original (and awful) pilot for Wonder Woman isn’t mentioned in the main article, it is linked to in the comments.
And also from Io9: SF Television’s Most Eye-Melting, Ear-Bleeding Opening Credits. Includes K-9 and Company, the short-lived Sci-Fi series version of Flash Gordon, season 5 of Smallville, and many others. Enterprise is listed--the theme song is the only thing I liked about the show.
Over at the Support Stacie ficathon message board, my entry for what I will be willing to write once bidding starts has just been posted. It tells what fandoms (Doctor Who/Torchwood, Merlin, and Librarian) and what the restrictions are for what I will and will not be willing to write. I notice that I didn’t say what pairings I would be willing to write in the Doctor Who/Torchwood fandom. Doctor/Donna--Doctor and Donna as friends is just as good. Also, Jack/Donna, Jack/Martha, Martha/Doctor, Doctor/Jack. That’s all I can really think of at the moment. The bidding begins on the 11th.

Don't. The first episode (hells, most of the first season) is/are nowhere near as good as what comes later. My advice would be to go for Cracker's Don't Matter and The Way We Weren't (both are from reasonably early in the second season). The first is pretty hilarious comedy, the second is one of the best pieces of drama ever.

This is the one with Illya Kuriakin? I watched that when it was on, but I don't remembr it well. Owait, there was a more recent one wasn't there, with Pa Kent. Never saw that one.

(I think it was the mention of Farscape that made me go there, as they overlapped for a while on Sci Fi.)
