I've uploaded the background, changed to S2, and started adding links too. How does it look? And does anyone know how to change it from purple to a different color? If not, this should be fine.

If you go to this page - http://www.livejournal.com/customize/ (http://www.livejournal.com/customize/) - you can change the colours by either choosing a different pre-programmed theme, or you can click on Edit Customizations, and pick the colours that you want for each element on your journal.

In the customize section there is an option to customize colours. Try that :)
