Part One Of The Five Questions Meme

Leave a comment saying "ORANGES" (or any other fruit of your choice)
- I'll respond by asking you five questions.
- Update your journal with the answers to your questions.
- Include this explanation and offer to ask other people questions, if you so choose.

Answering the questions from [personal profile] indiana_j:

1. Do you like fresh apples only? Do squishy, cooked apples do it for you?

I don’t actually like apples that much—apples were just the first thing I thought of to say for this meme. If I had to eat them, it would probably be raw and thinly sliced.

2. If you could create an RPG game, online or off, from scratch what would the premise be?

It would have to be online, as I wouldn’t know the first thing about doing one offline. I don’t know what the premise would be, but the fandom would likely be X-Men or Highlander.

3. How on earth do you keep your finger on the pulse of All That is Fandom like you do?

I’ve just always been a terrifyingly fast reader. That, and I have an outrageous number of syndicated LJ feeds on my friends list. There are a few that don’t have feeds, so I go to their sites every morning.

Oh, and my friends list is usually as far back as skip=330 each morning.

4. The Arthurian legend has been redone and redone throughout the ages - in modern shows/movies that show Arthur et al, which do you think comes out with the true spirit of it and why?

I really don’t know. I haven’t watched nearly enough things that deal with the Arthurian legend, even though I should. The only things I’ve watched that have anything to do with it are the Merlin miniseries from 1998 (Because it’s rerun to death on Syfy) and the current Merlin series with Colin Morgan. First Knight, even though I cannot stand Richard Gere. I know of Mists of Avalon, but I never watched it or read the book.

5. What's your favorite thing you've ever written?

If we’re talking about fanfic, it might be No Proton Packs Beyond These Doors. Doing a crossover between Doctor Who and Ghostbusters turned out to be fun.

[personal profile] sephirajo’s questions:

1. Plums... red or purple?

I don’t eat plums. They just happened to be the first thing I could think of right then.

2. Who is your least favorite comic book character ever.

There’s a long list, but Cable was the first that came to mind.

3. If you could travel back in time to seduce one historical figure who would it be and why. And it can be any type of seduce. Like seduce with chocolate or seduce with the power of rubber chickens.

I doubt I would seduce them…even with the power of a rubber chicken at my disposal, no matter how surreal that might turn out to be. I really can’t think of anyone.

4. If two wrongs don't make a right, do three wrongs?

I doubt it, unless in some twisted way that third wrong turns out to be the right thing, after going around something long enough.

5. If you could travel back in time and tell yourself one thing what would it be?

There are so many things. It would have to be something suitably cryptic, so I wouldn’t cause a paradox by averting something that should have taken place. I might tell myself to eat more foods with iron.

[personal profile] frito_kal’s questions:

1) Tomatoes - best fresh off the vine, sun-dried, cooked into a sauce or other?

The only way I like them is as tomato sauce, or tomato soup—or Campbell’s tomato juice. Otherwise, I won’t eat them.

2) Of the 3 'current' Doctors, which one is your favorite? What's your favorite of the companions?

The Tenth Doctor. My favorite companion would be Donna Noble.

3) Favorite dinosaur and/or other very very very extinct prehistoric animal and why?
I haven’t really been interested in dinosaurs since I was 2 or 3. Despite that, I think the Brontosaurus might have been my favorite. Why? Because it mostly ate plants, if I remember correctly. It wouldn’t do anything other than stomp on me, or crush me under a giant tail.

4) Assuming unlimited ridiculous amounts of money, what book or comic fandom would you have made into an animated series?

New Mutants. The original New Mutants, not the New New Mutants.

5) semi-serious question: How in the heck do you keep track of all the communities you're a member of?

[personal profile] indiana_j asked the same thing, actually. Speed reading. It apparently stuns people how fast I read my friends list every morning. From around 6 AM until 6:25 AM, I’m reading it. It’s usually back as far as skip=330 each morning. Sometimes more, if something big happened. Sometimes less, at skip=240. It’s only skip=60 or so on my Insanejournal friends list.

This is just part one of all the questions. Once the others are asked, I’ll post those.
