Fannish Items of Interest

9 Robots Who Probably Won’t Take Over The World (But Could If They Wanted To). I love that they listed Tik-Tok from Return to Oz, and Skeets from DC Comics. I would have added Crow and Tom Servo.

Isohunt is being sued by the record industry.

Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark has been cited for two safety violations, which isn’t really news. Also at that link is an SNL spoof, with a fake law firm supposedly suing them—no money received in the resolved law suits, just more tickets to Turn Off The Dark.

Some Ghostbusters related memorabilia from Toy Fair 2011. It includes a Louis Tully with interchangeable heads.

The official title of the Spider-Man movie has been announced: The Amazing Spider-Manand the first official image of the full costume has been released.

This is a strange bit of casting news on the Dark Shadows front if it turns out to be true—Michelle Pfeiffer is reportedly in talks to play Elizabeth Stoddard.

Kenneth Mars has passed away following a battle with pancreatic cancer. He was 75 years old. I remember him best as the police inspector with the wooden arm in Young Frankenstein, as well as the voice of King Triton in Disney’s version of The Little Mermaid. He also did voice work for Darkwing Duck, The Jetsons, Batman: The Animated Series, Animaniacs, Duckman, Smurfs, The Land Before Time, and many other shows. May he rest in peace.
