That moment in particular was actually one I was so very tempted to slide into the story even with less than ten minutes remaining before story reveals. I'm thinking the server was being hammered at that moment.
Even without Seward hissing at Van Helsing in the forest (I sort of liked Jonathan's reaction to it, and suspect he was twirling when they could no longer see him, before he went up the tree; look up, people--there's a chance he briefly managed to get up there by way of fog, too), it might have worked.
