the <em>Predator: Badlands</em> teaser is not <em>literally</em> called “world of hurt”, but that&#8217;s what the text says. And it certainly looks unfriendly: stabby plants! Murderous vines! In one of the teaser&#8217;s two lines of dialogue, Elle Fanning (<em>The Great</em>) says, “You&#8217;re hunting something that can&#8217;t be killed.”</p> <p>But she&#8217;s not talking <em>about</em> a Predator. She&#8217;s talking <em>to</em> one. The brief synopsis says:</p> <figure class="wp-block-pullquote has-text-align-left"><blockquote><p><em>Predator: Badlands,</em> which stars Elle Fanning and Dimitrius Schuster-Koloamatangi, is set in the future on a remote planet, where a young Predator (Schuster-Koloamatangi), outcast from his clan, finds an unlikely ally in Thia (Fanning) and embarks on a treacherous journey in search of the ultimate adversary. </p></blockquote></figure> <p>Perhaps she is talking both to and about a Predator, though “the ultimate adversary” could mean anything. (Maybe it&#8217;s a xenomorph! But <a href="https://reactormag.com/2025-will-see-two-predator-films-from-dan-trachtenberg/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">probably not</a>.) 20th Century Studios President Steve Asbell previously <a href="https://reactormag.com/2025-will-see-two-predator-films-from-dan-trachtenberg/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">called <em>Badlands</em></a> “an absolutely bonkers idea,” saying, “It is a sci-fi thing, but it’s not what everybody thinks it is. And I mean, it’s awesome. It is so nuts. But in Dan, we trust.”</p> <p><em>Predator: Badlands</em> comes from <em>Prey</em> director Dan Trachtenberg, and it will be his second Predator film this year, after the <a href="https://reactormag.com/the-animated-predator-killer-of-killers-is-coming-to-hulu/" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">animated <em>Predator: Killer of Killers</em></a>, which arrives on Hulu in June. <em>Badlands</em> gets the full theatrical release—including IMAX, for extra-big bone-crunching and bloodsplatters!—on November 7th.[end-mark]</p> <figure class="wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio"><div class="wp-block-embed__wrapper"> <site-embed id="15473"/> </div></figure> <p>The post <a href="https://reactormag.com/predator-badlands-teaser/">&lt;i&gt;Predator: Badlands&lt;/i&gt; Goes to a &#8220;World of Hurt&#8221;</a> appeared first on <a href="https://reactormag.com">Reactor</a>.</p><p class="ljsyndicationlink"><a href="https://reactormag.com/predator-badlands-teaser/">https://reactormag.com/predator-badlands-teaser/</a></p><p class="ljsyndicationlink"><a href="https://reactormag.com/?p=812103">https://reactormag.com/?p=812103</a></p>

genuinely they have probably saved people.

they HAVE saved people actually i’m 100% sure of that. i’ve learned about so many recalls i would’ve had no idea about otherwise !!!! from the bottom of all of our hearts thank you mamoru

aw shucks, thank YOU! what a pick me up!

when I was younger, I got food poisoning. I was supposed to recover from it, but I wound up with a bunch of nasty medical conditions instead. I never imagined I would become disabled from food.

so I am really glad I have been able to help spread the word every now and then about food safety and recalls, since it hopefully means a few less people going through what I have.

while I have your attention, I do not post every recall, even just for the US, so here are a few of the links I use!

  • recalls.gov/recent.html <- aggregate of official government recall links for the US! food, drugs, products, child safety seats, motor vehicles, and tires! (half the feeds are broken half the time, but hey, it works™! check the FDA enforcement reports for a more complete list of recalls, especially drug recalls!)
  • recalls for canada <- recalls for canada!
  • RASFF <- food recalls and safety alerts for the EU!
  • food safety news <- news about food safety in the US, canada, and around the world!
  • I was poisoned <- see where people have gotten food poisoning near you, and report your own! (worldwide!)

thanks for reading, stay safe and take care!

Next time you’re around when the mail gets delivered, ask your delivery person if they’re understaffed or not.

But don’t hold them up too much, they have a lot of work to do.

Y'all NEED to let your conservative family members know about this because the USPS is a LARGE employer of military veterans and has AMAZING benefits.

They employ over 100,000 veterans. Your conservative uncle needs to know those jobs are threatened.

Your regular reminder the USPS does not use tax payer funds

The relevance of “should they” can be debated

The truth of “they don’t” cannot be in good faith

So I ask you — why does it need to be cut? To whom does that benefit? Do you agree with them benefiting?

HAPPY HOLMWOOD-AVERSARY!

fiotrethewey:

theholmwoodfoundation:

It’s the one year anniversary of us starting the process of writing the Holmwood Foundation! Twelve months later, and we’ve written and locked the entirety of season one, completed the pilot, raised funds for the next full seven episodes, and are today recording episode five with our wonderful cast! It’s been a wild amazing ride so far, and hopefully it’s only just begun!

Thank you so much to everyone who sent in fanart and fan works over the last few weeks. Once again we’ve been overwhelmed by the creativity and enthusiasm of our listeners. We’ve showcased them below, along with a few we weren’t able to include in our last post.

The man himself! A Dracula skull in the flesh (uh, bone) from cardboard_and_superglue on insta

This gorgeous gif of our haunted quartet (plus skull) from @moonsun2010

And the gang as we’d never seen them before: Maddie and Jeremy (+skull) in Lego, from @sherezades

And a few beautiful fanworks from the Discord that we were unable to include in our last post! Please let us know if we’ve missed any, and I’ll add it below!

ADDITIONAL NEWS: we’ve officially penciled a date to record our final two episodes of season one, after which we can hopefully roll out our official release schedule! More info coming very soon. Watch this space!

So so proud of Holmwood. Can’t wait to share the rest of the series with you all ❤️

Any fans of Becky (2020) and its sequel Wrath of Becky(2023)

Posted by /u/Quiet-Interview3916

Lulu Wilson is an underrated name in the horror genre and should get more recognition especially after playing the vigilante Becky in these two films. I hope a third one gets made soon and Lulu gets more work in the horror genre.

I also liked the casting of actors known for comedy as villains. In the first one it was Kevin James and Sean William Scott in the sequel.

Horror movies for when you DON'T want to be really scared

Posted by /u/TakuanWasRight

There are times where I want to be really scared and then there are times where I just want to put on a horror movie and chill.

I realize that being scared is kind of the point of the genre, but sometimes I just want the "vibes" of a horror movie without being traumatized and shaking by the end. And I know that fear is subjective so what one person finds not scary, someone else will find terrifying.

In general, slashers (Halloween, Friday the 13th, etc.) don't scare me. However, found footage films do even if they're bad. Something like The Fog or Midsommar that have immaculate atmosphere, but not much in the way of real terrifying scares is kind of what I'm looking for.
