How Things Went

The visitation was a surprise. There are only 9 surviving family members apparently. Not counting my other grandmother, who couldn't be there since she's in a nursing home. I assume that this is just my father's side of the family.

That includes me, my mom, my dad, my sister, 4 other family members, and our preacher. We decided we might as well include him, since there aren't that many left.

A few of those family members I had never seen before in my life, and neither had my mom.

We got there at 3:45 and were there until 6:30. I was completely exhausted at that point, and went home. I'm just not used to being out so late. (If you can't tell, I'm a morning person, not a night owl.) From what I've heard, it lasted well into the night, with my dad and a few others going out to a restaurant.

While there, the funeral home had apparently compiled a video of the pictures my dad had given them. It showed pictures of my grandmother and a few others through the years. Based on what I know about computers, I pointed out that it was obvious that it was a Powerpoint Presentation. That was odd. Based on that, I can tell that I learned a little too much in college. :)

As I was leaving the funeral home, I saw my old high school Vice Principal. That was a shock. I saw him, but I don't think he saw me. He apparently retired, and decided to work in a funeral home.

The funeral itself is going to be at 10 AM this morning.
