Fannish Items of Interest--All Doctor Who Related
From Blogtor Who: Jack Harkness discusses the Weeping Angels.
Well, as of a few hours ago, I finished watching The End of Time Part 1. All I can really say is that the end was ridiculous, and highly amusing at the same time. John Simm was having so much fun, and it showed. I thought the Master in a dress was hysterical.
All the Masters waving at each other just made me laugh. Did they show Minnie the Menace become him?
And something I thought of just now? Well, at least Jack’s not on Earth--we won’t get to see him become the Master in addition to everything else that’s gone wrong for him. On the other side of that, though, we won’t get to see the Master wearing Jack’s coat... I also had the horrifying thought of Gwen in the middle of labor, and turning into the Master—although, by now she’s probably had the baby. Tiny infant Master’s...
Imagine if Jackie were still around. Imagine the Doctor’s horror at her being the Master, too...
By the way, his insane ranting about food? Made me see him as Gollum for a moment. I thought it was odd, but nice, that the Master wanted to have some nostalgia with the Doctor after blasting him in the chest with an energy ball.
Where the Time Lords were standing, it really looked like the Sycorax ship for a moment--just the way the CGI was done. That, or a Dalek ship.
I love Wilf, with his reindeer hat, and not being too impressed with the TARDIS. And saying those aliens looked like a cactus. The scene between the Doctor and Wilf in the café was nicely done.
Oh, and despite Lucy only being around for those few minutes before apparently being blown up? I think I like her now.
I’ll grab the Confidential in a few minutes.
You can watch a trailer for The End of Time Part 2 here—and another one here. There’s a clip almost two minutes long here.
You can watch David Tennant’s part as The Ghost of Christmas Present here. It starts around 3 minutes, 20 seconds, along with the theme from Ghostbusters.
