The 13th anniversary of the first episode of Buffy was yesterday—and Sci Fi Wire has the original promo that aired right before it, introducing the series. I think I’ve seen that before because I definitely remember that voice, which means I watched the premiere. So I presumably saw that first episode, hated it, forgot about it. Discovered it at Suncoast Video a while later, bought half of season 1, hated it, forgot about it, left the tapes in the attic long enough to melt--all but one, anyway, given the fact I found it about a year ago, before losing it again.

Season 3 rolled around, I watched Dead Man’s Party—and suddenly I loved the show. It was around the start of my senior year of high school. The people at
