Yuletide Sign-Up Progress
Around 8 AM, I tried to fill out the Yuletide sign-up form, but it killed IE and Firefox in a rather spectacular way.
I sat there and waited, trying to get it to work in IE again. So around noon, I finally downloaded Chrome, and it seemed to do great in that. I finished doing everything in that long form, hit submit--and it had a lot of errors I needed to correct. I did that.
I hit submit again, right as we had some sort of power failure here. A reaction of “NOOOOO!” is probably appropriate. Oddly, the computer did not go off, but the internet was down for 10 minutes. The power was down in the rest of the house, just...not my room.
Hit submit again, and it said the database was briefly too busy. So I refreshed the page, and it said the database was under too much strain.
I’m going to try again in a few minutes. If everything I just did is gone, well...I’ll just have to do it all over again. It’s currently 3 PM, so I’ve been at this for 7 hours, if you don't count a 30 minute break to retain my sanity and grab some food.
ETA: Got it back up there at 3:06. Nothing was lost. I'll start correcting anything else that needs correcting.
ETA 2: After wrestling with the Shrek fandom for approximately 20 more minutes, I'm finished. It's 3:32 PM. For some reason, it wasn't liking one of the characters I listed, no matter how I fixed it. I realized I was fine with writing anyone from those movies, clicked Any instead, and it got through. Finally.
If anyone wonders, the fandoms I offered were: Back to the Future, Ghostbusters, Dark Shadows (1991), Curse of the Fatal Death, The Addams Family (1991), Fright Night, Shrek, Pushing Daisies, Dracula: Dead And Loving It, and the Buffy movie.
