Proof That It's Really Bad...

The Army National Guard is here now. They're here to help out with anyone who is stranded or just needs help.

We're under the same snowstorm up in SW Ontario. We've got 30 cm of snow since about 3 a.m. So I call my boss to leave a message to say I'll be late if I can get in at all. None of the roads in my neighbourhood have been ploughed and I drive a Chev Cavalier. Not really a bad-winter-weather beast, you know?

He calls me back and what does he say? "What time do you think you'll be in? I need you to go to the court office."

...

When the wind stops blowing all the snow back into the driveway, or when they plough my road so my car can actually get out of the driveway, maybe! And no, I am not driving across town to the court in this!

Gha. Men.

God, I hope everybody is okay. (We're having just the opposite weirdness at my end of PA -- lots of rain and at least 50 degrees.)

You'll be in my thoughts! I hope the weather eases off soon.

We're on the southern end of the storm and got sleet and ice with a topping of snow. Not the big drifts that the north saw.

I've got Mr. Freeze bases from "The Batman" cartoon series that you might find something you like in. Not much snow but lots of ice.
