Bad Weather
We've been dealing with some severe weather here. So to anyone on my friends list that's getting it now, please try to stay safe. I believe they said it was headed for Tennessee at one point. I know a building collapsed in La Center once it ended up there. Ballard County has a lot of property damage.
Around 10:20 AM, the tornado sirens started--and the fire department started doing their own sirens as some sort of back-up. One tornado was seen on I-24, and was spotted crossing the interstate. It was between exits 3 and 7, which is our area--hence the sirens. Sirens ended at 10:40, then started again at 10:45. We're fine. The power went out at Kentucky Oaks Mall. As I understand it, people there went across the street to Wal-Mart, who then sent everyone to the back of the store, away from windows. Wind was 70 mph, and it's calmed down to 15 mph now--and sent the temperature from 72 degrees, to 55 degrees.
(Today is apparently Tater Day--so the tornado struck during the festival in Benton. And yet, one man refused to leave and continued to serve funnel cakes. Nobody was there to serve it to, since they got out of there. The umbrella certainly didn't help him, from what I've heard.)
And with LJ, I think everything's almost back to normal at the moment. I can read syndicated feeds and personal journals. The only thing not cooperating just yet are the LJ groups.
