Help Remembering A Movie

There is a movie that I remember watching back in the early 90's. I can't remember the name of it, though.

I only remember small parts.

-At certain parts in the movie someone kept shouting "Choco Socko Is Boffo!" or something similar.
-The good guy was brought to another planet, because the people on that planet thought he was a hero. They watched his TV show.
-The bad guy had a woman who had visions with him. At one point, she sleeps with the good guy, and loses her powers.
-There was a wise woman who kept helping the hero. I want to say she used to play Uhura, but I think I'm wrong.

I think it was a spoof of things like Flash Gordon.

Does anyone remember this TV movie?

ETA: Thanks to seandc and grimprime, I found the movie. It was The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space.

Yes it was Nichelle Nichols, so you're spot on. Ron Perlman was Lord Vox. And Turbo Man from Jingle All The Way was Captain Zoom himself.

The movie is "The Adventures of Captain Zoom in Outer Space", a syndicated movie shown on the SciFi channel. And yes, Nichelle Nichols was in it. Ron Perlman was the villain. Liz Vassey was the heroine and Daniel Riorden played "Captain Zoom", a B-grade actor from Earth, mistaken for a real hero.
