1. Comment with any romantic pairing from a fandom that you know I have some knowledge about.
2. I will rant for as long as I bloody well like about aforementioned romantic pairing. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on what it is.
3. Put this on your LJ, if you are so inclined.

Peter Parker/Mary Jane Watson Parker (Spiderman comics)
Hoping you'll be kind, they're my comic otp*g*
I mean, they actually grow in their marriage, MJ's never just the maiden in distress and she doesn't put herself in trouble just to get Peter's attention. She's his best friend as well as the love of his life and she's basically the strenght that keeps him going day to day.
And for once, he's the same for her, supporting her in her ambtions, standing by her when she needs him, not just in the superhero way. And you know that even when he isn't perfect, when he can't be there for her at all times that he'd want to, he tries and does his best...
They're actually very real life and I just love that about them.
So uhm, hoping you don't dislike them too much.

Their marriage went through a lot, during Peter's trial for murder and then the whole clone thing and her pregnancy one right after the other. But it endured during that time.
Honestly, I don't know anything else about it, since I quit reading Spider-Man comics in the issue Ben Reilly died, Peter and Mary Jane's baby was either kidnapped or murdered, Norman Osbourne came back from the dead, and the Daily Bugle was partially blown up.
I loved them as a couple far more than I ever liked Gwen Stacey/Peter. (And that relationship has recently been ruined by her affair with Norman, in a weird recent storyline. Don't get me started on that, though.)

It does seem like a natural pairing.

Barbara Gordon and Dick Grayson?

Barbara has been through so much, and changed so much since she and Dick first met. However, one thing that has never changed is her independence. She can be very fierce and independent, and would never want to wait around to be rescued. She wanted to be the rescuer, and loved adventure, and because of that she became Batgirl.
And even in spite of paralysis inflicted by The Joker, she continued to help people. That innate need to help others, is possibly what drew Dick to her. She never puts up with anything the Bat Family does. In fact, she challenges Dick whenever he starts to act like Bruce. She has probably been a big factor in the fact that he is still sane. (Well, Barbara, Leslie, and Alfred, at least.)
Regarding Dick Grayson? He is a flamboyant, cheerful guy who can keep her happy. He loves her for herself, and never lets her brood. He is not nearly as isolated, when he has her to talk to. Despite being raised by Batman, Dick knows that he needs others to help him through times of crisis, and people to love. Without people, Dick just doesn't know what to do with himself, since he's a natural performer.
Together, they help each other get through most obstacles that are thrown at them.
Maybe someday the writers will get them back together.
And this is starting to look like it's turning into my ship_manifesto essay, so I think I'll stop here.
(Thank you, Sean! I think part of this is going in the essay. I was stuck on Dick's characterization. :D )

Personally, I think they are perfect for each other. On Selina's side, she is a confident woman who is not a damsel in distress that Batman has to save all the time. And she is loyal, as evidenced by the fact that she did not betray his secret once she found out he was really Bruce Wayne. She is also the type of person who will not put up with his act of pushing people away when things get tough. She will get in his face, and make him face reality. And force him to act like a human being.
When Bruce is around her, he seems to act more human, and less like, as someone on my Friends List called him, a "Scary Bat God." He allows people in, and is nicer. During the Hush storyline, I believe Selina is part of what kept Bruce sane.
Other than those aspects, they have wonderful chemistry together. It is entirely possible that Catwoman gave up stealing things (as far as I know.) for him, but I doubt it. She is her own person, so she may have simply started to grow up and realize she didn't need to do that anymore.
All in all, Selina/Bruce (or Bat/Cat) is one of my absolute favorite pairings.
(Seriously, I need to find a really good Bruce/Selina icon from the comics sometime soon.)
