Meme...

Taken from [profile] spitefairy.

List your 5 favorite fandoms and when you think they Jumped The Shark, or you know, if they didn't.

1. Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Magic is now a drug, and Willow is an addict.

2. Angel: Either Evil Cordy, or never. It redeemed itself in season 5.

3. Highlander: The resolution to the Ahriman storyline. A midgit runs around with Richie's skull (probably not really), flowers bleed, Richie's killed, and Duncan does a kata to defeat the demon. Who appears as Horton for one last time, and screams. Starting here, season 6 is horrible. Except for brief appearances by Methos, and an episode that starred Fitzcairn.

4. Charmed: Cole is killed, and then comes back as an indestructible demon--until Paige gets stuck in an alternate reality he creates where he is able to be killed...and he is killed. That, or the appearance of The Magic School, that looks like a rip-off of Harry Potter.

5. Can't really think of a 5th one.

Hmm, I'd almost agree on the first one. They nearly totally ruined Willow's storyline by wussing out with her descent into evil.
Mostly I think though that the worst part of s6 Buffy is not just the darkness in s6, but the lack of repurcussions for the socalled corescoobs in s7.

Willow literally gets away with murder
Xander is never forced to deal with his fears of becoming like his father, and instead just flichers out. They don't even deal with his bullying and bigotry.
Giles abandons Buffy and becomes a podGiles, instead of actually letting him make repurcussion for it.
And Buffy's turned into a domestic abuser and never ever has to take responsibility for that. Instead we're suddenly forced to see her as the victim, which she never was...

In fact at the end of Chosen, all the chars I still loved on the show were dead. (at least Spike got to come back)

I don't understand what 'jumped the shark' means. :/

I liked the concept of Willow going nuts with Magic and then being all evil, but I really didn't care for how it was done. Acting not the best. But it did allow for a sweet Willow/Xander scene, which I really missed by season 6.

3 Wow, I really need to watch Highlander again, I don't remember the 6th season at all, except for no more Richie.

Ugh... yes, Season 6 was the season of "revolving female immies guest-stars". *sighs sadly*

maybe for a 5th... IMHO...

When it became impossible to read and enjoy the X-Men without either

a) knowing a incredibly huge and detailed back story

or

b) only reading the ultimates

they've bounced back since the late 90's

I didn't like Evil!Cordy, but I loved Angel - Season 4. Therefore I don't think Angel ever did jump the shark.
