Turns out that the_gifted doesn't have an Illyana Rasputin. (Or if they do, I don't see her listed anywhere, and must have missed it if it was.) She's my favorite character from the original New Mutants.

After I write up her history, I'll send in an application for her. (Give me a while, she's had the most complicated life of all the X-Men...other than Jean--and the rest of the Summers clan.)

And for her year of birth, I'm trying to figure it out. I made her birthday month April. (New Mutants #14 of the original series came out in April. That was the issue with her birthday. So her birthday will be April 14th. Yes, I'm a total geek. I admit it.)

Can anyone help with the birth year? I want to make sure I don't mess up.

She's 16 years old in this game. She was kidnapped by Belasco when she was 7, and spent 7 years in Limbo. What would be the right year for her to be born in that case?

ETA: Keep in mind that 7 years in Limbo equals probably 7 seconds in normal time.

ETA 2: OK, since it was pointed out that the story took place shortly before Christmas, I'm changing her day of birth to December 14th.

Her birthday is somewhere in the winter actually. The first snow in New York as per New Mutants issue #14 where she forgets her birthday. So anywhere from between maybe September to November.

I'll admit that the comic was published in April but the comic seems to be more winter as they're gearing up for Christmas.

That makes sense, then. I remembered snow, but didn't remember the Christmas aspect of it. I can just edit it to be December 14 instead, since it's shortly before Christmas.

As far as birthyear goes...the Magik LE is 1983 in which she's 7. Giant Sized X-Men #1 is her first appearance in...1975 in which she was probably...five or six. So...yeah, comic time is not our time.

I know. Comic time is always confusing to figure out. I think the RPG is set in 2005, so I'd have to figure it out based on that--but still use the comics for her history. It seems to be partly Movieverse, partly comics.

In all of the games I've played Illyana in (and wow, there have been a few) the birth year is usually somewhere in the `80s. Sometimes it gets completely forgotten as no one is sure on the date.

I can see why it's usually forgotten. It's too confusing to figure out a lot of the time.

I think I once saw an RPG where they wrote out the birthdays for every character. If I could find that one again, I could see the year they used. (Although, it probably wouldn't be the right age.)

Well, if the RPG is set in 2005 and she's supposed to be about 16, which means that she spent...give me a second....When she falls in she's about seven and a half. She comes out being fourteen and a half. Turns 15 in December. Then 16 the following year. So she'd really be...nine. Thats puts her birthdate to...1996.

I once figured out a complete timeline for her in order to do a future alternate reality fic. It was mind-blowing but also simple when you looked back at it.

Mind-blowing is the perfect word for trying to get her timeline straight. *laughs*

And for trying to keep out any other alternate history from the bio, like the version of her from Exiles.
