The Computer...
Dad's going to try to buy a new hard drive--and then, ask someone to teach him how to fix it. He also gave me a piece of paper that tells the error message that shows up--just in case anyone here can help fix it.
It says this: "A disk read error occurred. Press Ctrl +Alt +Del to restart."
Unfortunately, when you do what that says to do, nothing happens. It won't even restart.
And this section is just for me to try to find later on. For when/if the computer is fixed. I'll add more to the list as I think of it.
-Try to find a certain site that had information I was using for the Persephone application. And rewrite that application. ETA: Found the site ! Or at least the main site I used. And here is another.
-Go to
sv_inquiry, and find the Smallville stories I found through there.
-Read through my old
ship_manifesto essays that I posted. I think I might find a few links that way.
-Go to
liviapenn's journal, and find those Blue Beetle icons she made for me again.
-Find all the Catwoman/Michelle Pfeiffer icons that I had found the other day, resave them.

In the words of Peter DeLuise - "BIGGER!!" :D Especially if he wants to be downloading stuff onto it.
Are any of the computer stores over there open on a Sunday?
Or, hopefully, the new one will be all fancy and he won't actually have to fix anything his own self cause it won't be happening anymore. :)
I'd suggest taking it in to the store when getting the new one for the techies to look over, but I understand that computer-repair works differently over there...
Wow, that was almost me-level hopefulness. ;)

I know. I was sitting in an overheated garage at the time I typed that. (That's where this old computer he found for me to use is located.) You'd suddenly turn into a pessimist at that point, too.

Otherwise type cmd in start and execute. Type chkdsk /r in the dos box. It will ask for a disc check and after a reboot it will initiate this check...
good luck
