Ipod Question

Mom received a free Ipod with a magazine subscription a few months ago. She wants to know how you can get it to work. Can music be put on it or do you have to download the music and pay for it, from a certain site?

Mom and Dad can't figure it out. Mom wants to listen to the music, but can't get it to work.

Both ways as I understand it. You can either rip your own music cds or download music. Does she have the Itunes program? She'll need that to make it work.

I don't have one, but I believe you can put any MP3 file on them.

Is it an iPod or an iPod mini? The minis, I think, are about the size of credit cards and once you put the music on, you can't change it. Whereas with the regular iPods, you can write and rewrite as often as you want.

No, iPod Mini's (and all ipods for that matter) can be reloaded over and over. Depending on the size of the drive in the mini, they hold 1,000-1,500 songs, I think.

ipod=yay!

1. Download/Install iTunes
2. Rip .mp3 files out of your own CD's. Or buy/download them.
3. Arrange them in playlists however you want.
4. Plug in iPod
5. Update music to iPod.
6. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.

I have an older iPod, and a teeny iPod Shuffle. I swap out the music on the Shuffle all the time (it only holds like 500 songs). The big IPod, I just keep piling it in there and it's not full yet. Have diffent playlists for sleeping, office use, snowboarding, driving, etc.
