The Unkillable Pairing Meme
1. Comment with any ship from a fandom that you know I like, or at least have some knowledge about.
2. I will ramble for 100 words about aforementioned ship. This may be incoherent gushing or exclamations of disgust, depending on what it is.
3. Put this on your LJ, if you are so inclined.

I'm going to go out on a limb here, and ask about...
Alfred Pennyworth and Leslie Thompkins :D
(trying to be helpful, there's too many to remember what's been asked before...)
And if you've already done them, then hows about Kaylee Frye and Simon Tam?

Unfortunately, Bruce oftentimes ruins their brief moments together. He doesn't even realize it--and it's usually due to an injury that he's acquired as Batman.
On Leslie's side: Alfred brings her patience (and a patient in Bruce). He is one of the few people who has the gift of being able to get through to those who need his advice--including her, whether she wants his opinion or not.
On Alfred's side: Leslie helps to keep him grounded. He has someone to confide in whenever the Bat Family gets a little too intense or insane. She has comforted him in the past, whenever things have gotten too difficult--an example would be when Bruce decided to leave home and start training for his role as Batman.
In essence, they are truly Bruce's parents. Or as close as they can legally get.

Beetle and Booster.

Back when they first met, they were more pranksters than anything else. Over time, that grew. What did they gain from each other?
On Booster's side, he matured quite a bit. Even if he was great at hiding it. He learned loyalty, and stuck by Ted as best he could. (He possibly learned about love as well because of everything.) I personally think that if he hadn't ended up severely injured and stuck in the hospital, he would have gone with Ted into Maxwell Lord's lair. He would have done his best to save him. Even if it meant he would die with him.
On Beetle's side, I think he really learned something about infinite patience. And to never, ever underestimate someone. He was very protective of Booster, and I think it made him a little mad when anyone else insulted Booster. He was loyal to his friends to the end, and used his life to try to save everyone.
Unfortunately, it didn't stop Countdown... or the whole OMAC debacle. Or Maxwell Lord. (Wonder Woman snapping his neck? That may have made Booster stop and think, but I don't think he would have killed Max if he had been there. He would have wanted him stopped, but he would have known how Ted would feel about anyone else dying because of something that happened to him.

I do know that if they ever got together, Batman would not be thrilled at all. He would tell them to stay away from each other since she has so much power.
If they did get together, she would probably be happy that he's never given up on her.
