Toothache

Does anyone know of a good way to stop a horrible toothache, until I can get to the dentist on Monday? (Just another day and a half until then...) I have a feeling it's a wisdom tooth coming in, but I can't be sure. My mouth is too small to see back that far.

Look at my mood. That's how bad it is right now.

Ibuprofen doesn't work on it for very long. Aleve didn't really work at all.

Cold briefly helps it, so I'm currently drinking tons of iced tea. (Bathroom, here I come!)

ETA: And for 5 glorious minutes, the pain was gone!

For minor toothpain you can take arthritis pain tylenol, its strong, its like 650milligrams a piece, it worked for us around here the last time.

I hope that helps.

Or there's always gargling with whiskey, which isnt fun at all.

What used to help a bit for me was the following: either rub a bit of dissolvey aspirin directly on the sore place, or mix up some dissolved aspirin and just hold it in your mouth and spit it out - repeat as necessary. Because you're not swallowing, you can make it a very strong solution and do it as often as you like without overdosing.

Good luck.

Excellent! I'm glad my years of living with rotten teeth turned out to be good for something :D

Oil of cloves - taste disgusting, works really well to numb tooth pain. Hope you feel better soon!
