[community profile] crack_van Question

A couple weeks ago, I signed up for helping out in the DC Fandom recs over at [community profile] crack_van. So far, I haven't heard back about what month I could do. I signed up in this post. Does anyone know if that was the right post, or if I should have posted that I wanted to volunteer in a comment to a different entry?

They only assign one month out, and usually give you about a week's notice before your turn starts. If everyone ahead of you does their month, though, it looks like you've got about ten months to go before you get the call.

What she said. They tend to accept everybody who signs up, so they WILL get to you. When the time comes you'll also get an e-mail, outlining exactly what reccing entails and telling you when you'll have posting access.

It's great fun, and I would reccomend keeping a list of fics you run into, now till then, you think rec-worthy. Just when you run into a fic, note it down. Then for the two months leading up to your run, start searching out fics you KNOW you want to include, and whittle it down to a recs list, possibly fitting it into a scheduel, or rough guideline.

The fandom's also been up long enough that a theme month wouldn't go astray, and that will help cut down the number of recs: you get a max of twleve plus ONE crossover and ONE vid.

FYI, this is all just stuff I found worked for me, and stuff I think I'll do next time. (Because yes, there WILL be a next time!)
