Contrary to what you might have heard tell, I am not an unsociable fella. Don't seem like just droppin' an agreeable person-- such as yourself-- would be so burdensome, so here it is.

In fact, while we're at it, why don't I get just a thing or two off my chest, speaking of misconceptions?

I ain't a hero. Nope. Heroes, you see, do stupid things for what they think are the right reasons. Me, I just end up doin' those same stupid things for all the wrong gorram reasons, and to be totally truthful, I'm gettin just a little more than tired of it.

I'm not a nice person. I'm ornery, arguesome, and entirely more stubborn than any man you've ever met, and you can bet every bit of coin you can get your hands on that I'm proud of the fact.

Hmpf. It does seem, though, that I have gotten long-winded in my advanced age, and you've surely heard enough of my go se for a long, long while. So, here's the end.

Hey, sorry I didn't call you back after last week. I had a bit too much of the ol' cham-pag-a-nee last night, if you know what I mean. This past week has been so hectic between all the charity fundraisers and business meetings... not that I have to do any actual work, that's why I have guys like Lucius to do it for me! Tuesday, I had a very important meeting with Mayor Hill. If anyone asks, I let him beat me at that 18th hole. I'm afraid I'm booked for the rest of the week with more fundraisers (these Crime Alley kids, what're you going to do, am I right?) and my nights... well, my nights aren't looking to free as of now. Except for Thursday, I'll be escorting the lovely and sexy Mason twins to the Opera. If you're not too hung-up on the idea, you could tag along. We'll probably leave before intermission and head back to the mansion. What do you say, baby? Four's company!

I am as disinterested in this letter as a mountain is to those that climb it. Such base creatures as yourself should not attempt contact with their superiors, yet I am trapped here in this place and there is no longer the stink of battle or glory to amuse.

This world disgusts me. Humans scramble amougst the filth like vermin. It wearies me. There is much I must do to rid the earth of their stink.

Uh hi. A little bird told me (I can't go into details you understand, I thought General Hammond would do himself an injury when I even told Catherine *Catherine* of all people about our little operation) that you'd like a letter, so, um, here's the letter you asked for.

Just one slight detail - Ja... this little bird (Sam, why are you reading over my shoulder and trying not to laugh?) didn't actually tell me what you wanted me to write to you about, or even which language to use (for someone who understands twenty-three languages, this is a rather important point). I'm guessing English is a good starting point (please don't say Ancient Egyptian, I can't tell you why - did you know I can *hear* your eyebrow lifting, Teal'c?).

As for what you'd like to talk about, well, I'd best not assume anything, I'm sure I don't have to tell you with your background in history how some such assumptions have turned out in the past! But if there's any question about ancient history, then please, ask away! ~~Of course, some of it may need to be re-written soon, and I've got some further theories - OW! That hurt Sam!~~

Anyway, I hear the local doctors calling - physical assessments, as if they couldn't wait another day or so - or at least til I've had more coffee. If you think of a particular thing to talk about, do let me know, I'd love to help!
