Yesterday, I watched the MST3K version of Manos: The Hands of Fate. For those who don't know it is the worst movie ever made.

Possibly even worse than Gigli, Crossroads, and Glitter--combined. As I told seandc, it makes the Power Rangers (the original ones) look like Shakespearian actors! That's how bad the movie is.

And Torgo's Theme will stay with you for a very long time. Those of you on my Friends List that have actually seen this movie will understand what I'm talking about.

Now, I'm going to search YouTube for Torgo's Theme. I want to see if anyone has actually been insane enough to include it.

I think I managed to catch part of that one back when they were showing the same episodes over and over again on the Sci-Fi Channel. I don't know if I ever saw the whole thing, though.

And, oh yes, that is the most fetid shitpile I've ever seen. Did you know that it was produced by a fertilizer salesman? Fitting, ne? *huggles bad!awful!movies so very hard* :P

That was my exact thought, too. :D

Sadly, I discovered that half the cast committed suicide, because this movie ruined their careers. And the guy who played Torgo was on both morphine and LSD when this movie was made. It shows. (Shortly after it was released, he committed suicide, too.)

You know, I read a really great article about this movie a while ago in Entertainment Weekly and I've been wanting to see the MST3K of it since then. I'll have to track it down somewhere.

Oh, yeah, that is one hellacious stinker of a movie. When I was doing the late night TV host thing, I actually watched part of the non MST-ied version of it. Part of, mind you, because it was so horrible that even three dyed in the wool horrible movie-watchers like the Threat Theatre crew couldn't make it through the thing. And we'd willingly see The Killer Shrews and The Devil Bat, you know.

Manos is awesome. MST3K is awesome. It's been probably ten years since I've seen that ep, so I don't remember the theme, but I do remember it being memorable (if that makes sense). I wish they'd come out with season DVDs of MST3K, but I think Manos is on one of them anyway.
