What is my favorite book and why? Wow, so many choices--but the first thing that comes to mind would have to be Call of the Wild. Whenever I read it, I think of Oz. I probably always will, since it’s what kept him calm whenever he was all wolfed out.

'Night came on, and a full moon rose high over the trees, lighting the land till it lay bathed in ghostly day. And the strain of the primitive remained alive and active. Faithfulness and devotion, things born of fire and roof were his, yet he retained his wildness and wiliness, and from the depths of the forest a call still sounded.'

I can’t imagine a time when I wouldn’t read those lines to him by the light of the full moon. It reminds me of how Oz is when he changes--even if I know he wouldn’t hurt me, you have to be a little scared of those instincts. I would be a dummy if I wasn’t.

Instincts and the most savage aspects of nature. That’s Oz, all right-- b-but only in his wolf form. He’s not all wolf, and he’s not all mine. I’m thrilled to have the love of this sweet man. He seems like a man who would never cheat, never harm, never stray.

And never harm someone intentionally, the way Pete destroyed his girlfriend.

Right? I know he couldn’t ever do that to me. I know him. I love him. At least, as long as he doesn’t go all ‘grrr’ and tear me apart.

I would probably love him even then. I could never hate him.
