Kitty/Rachel, Doctor Who, And Amazing Race...

What do these three things have in common? Absolutely nothing, other than a post.

I signed up for the Kitty Pryde/Rachel Summers essay over at [community profile] ship_manifesto. Now, I would like to know something. Does anyone have any good fanfic recs for this pairing?

Also, what are the most obvious issues/trades for the pairing? I remember seeing a lot in Excalibur, so volume 1 of the old series is a given.

P.S.: Does anyone have any good Kitty/Rachel icons? This mullet one is the only one that I've been able to find so far.

In other news, looks like Amazing Race has moved to a new time. 7 PM on Wednesdays. I was planning on not watching it anymore, since it was at 9PM until I heard the news about the move. Now I can actually watch it without falling asleep!

Oh, also? I have yet another new fandom. Doctor Who. I watched The Unquiet Dead when it aired on the Sci-Fi Channel last week, and I love it.

I don't have any fic recs, alas, but give me a couple of minutes and I'll go through and give you issue references - and if you want some things scanned, I'll do that, too. :)

I have a couple icons I can email your way, as well, and can make more!

Yay for the Rachel/Kitty essay! I have a lot of subtexty Rachel/Kitty scans on my computer if you're interested. I scanned them in a while back to share the subtext with friends.

There was some fanfic and icons in the early days of [livejournal.com profile] x_femslash. There is also some fic at fem-x.com. I can make a list of them for you if you want. I have the links saved somewhere on my computer so it shouldn't take long.

Dr Who rocks the cazba. Wait till you see The Empty Child.

Oh, yeah-- Chris Eccleston rox my sox.
I love his Doctor, really a close runner-up to Tom Baker's Doctor for garnering my eternal adoration.
Watch for all the Big Bad Wolf/Little Red Riding Hood references-- big fun!

Off the top of my head, issue wise, I'd have to point out the horrid Uncanny X-Men #460 (Rachel's jealousy over Peter) and the oldschool X-Men/Alpha Flight crossover (from what I remember, Rachel and Kitty are adorable). Depending on if you want to bring AUs into the essay, X-Men: the End (despite, again, being terrible) has a *lot* of subtext.

Oh, [livejournal.com profile] ship_manifesto. How I wish I could write a Cyclops/Wolverine one, but alas, it's already been done.
