Nostalgia Overload

I’ve been going through Youtube all afternoon, and I've been finding quite a few old shows. Beneath the cut, you’ll find links to them. Most of them were from back when Nickelodeon was actually an interesting channel to watch. Before the quality went downhill.

Cartoon All Stars To The Rescue. I saw this one once when I was little, and didn’t understand it at the time. It’s an anti-drug cartoon, starring everyone from the Ninja Turtles to Alf, to Alvin and the Chipmunks.

Are You Afraid Of The Dark. You can find a bunch of episodes listed through this search. Still interesting after all this time.

The intro to Space Cases. The show that starred Kaylee and the Black Power Ranger. Was his name Zack?

Opening song for Roundhouse. Am I the only one who watched and loved this show?

Count Duckula.

Sadly, one of the few things that couldn’t be found was Welcome Freshmen.

The original commercial advertising Snick.

The opening for Hey Dude.

Muppet Babies. Personally, I think I hated that cartoon. Someone on my friends list might have liked it though, so here’s the intro.

Grimm’s Fairy Tale Classics.

I think I saw Heathcliff, Kenan and Kel, and You Can’t Do That On Television listed, too, if anyone wants to look for them. Oh, and David The Gnome.

The clip of Artie: The Strongest Man in the World—from Pete and Pete.

And finally, after all these years, I managed to find Garfield’s Halloween Adventure. :D

Hey, much of this above stuff is grand and brings back merry memories, but Fairly Oddparents, Danny Phantom, and even Spongebob much of the time are quite good.

Says the 23-year-old college graduate who gets weird looks watching such shows at the gym...

Certainly would make sense. Shows like Spongebob and Fairly Oddparents constantly walk that line between funny (sometimes brilliant) and annoying (frequenly extremely). For my part, they juuuuuuust manage to end out on the side of funny. Barely.

But they're still better than when Disney bought DOUG and changed things around.

Don't mind me, just popping in to say the Fairly Odd Parents and Danny Phantom are great cartoons- sometimes I fnd myself humming the theme from Danny Phantom.

Yay! I know I'm not the only one like this, but man, I still feel like I should be ashamed.

Is it so wrong of me that I should have a mini crush on Sam from Danny Phantom? Who's voiced by the same girl who played Frankie on Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, on whom I have a slightly more-than-mini crush?

And don't even get me started on Shego from KIM POSSIBLE. *shame*

Don't be ashamed! The people who should be ashamed are those who think they're too good for cartoons. I'm sure people think it's weird I tape The Batman every Saturday morning (which beats getting up for it at 8:30), but so what? It's Batman.

And I have to say Danny Phantom is pretty cute...

Danny Phantom is also incredibly slashy. ;)

I don't actually have cable right now so I haven't seen it in a while... I need to get home where I have Nickelodeon and can focus on slashiness!

OMG, the Garfield Halloween special! I thought it fell off the planet. It freaked me out then, even though I watched it every year, and it freaked me out a bit this time. I always felt so bad that that scary guy stole their candy.

Too bad you couldn't find Welcome Freshman, I liked that show. Everyone else was watching Saved by the Bell, but I liked my Nickelodeon show.

And it's interesting, that SNICK thing. The person who posted it says that it's for old school Nickelodeon fans, but according to the dates that was *after* I stopped watching SNICK because I was too old. *I'm* old school. :P

I never really "got" Roundhouse- by the time I realized I liked it it went off the air.

Dude. I remember You Can't Do That on Television and The Tomorrow People (original version, already dated at the time) and The Third Eye...yeah. Old person, here.

The Third Eye was an anthology about psychic kids or kids in supernatural stories. I think there were actually like five of them that kept repeating over and over and over, but I loved them so.

Thanks so much for the links! I can't wait to watch Count Duckula and Garfield. *spazzes out in a very good way*
