Buried Under Books
Earlier, I took quite a few pictures--if you care, you can see the hundreds of books laying around my house, along with the new bookshelf. Strangely, these pictures came out so clear that you should be able to read the titles of them.
This first one is primarily the books I’ve read. I’ve devoted the middle shelf to the essay books published by Smart Pop.

An extreme close-up of part of my to-be-read pile on the right half.

I zoomed out so you can see the pile in its entirety. The flat thing located in front of the pile on the left is a Real Ghostbusters fanzine. There are three others underneath.

Extreme close-up of the pile to the left.

And my Mom’s pile of books is so huge that one camera can’t take it all in! As you might expect, we have the occasional avalanche. The cat no longer cares, and just glares at Mom whenever it happens.

More of Mom’s pile of books.

Another angle, along with a Catwoman book of mine. The books in the plastic case back there are mine--they are mostly Star Trek fanzines.

The new bookshelf, that is slowly being filled with more of Mom’s books. Three books on the third shelf are mine. The rest belong to Mom.

Another shelf where you can see more of my books. The romance novels in the back on the right side are Mom’s.

The bottom part of that shelf, with more of Mom’s books. The weird bag is what we use to drag used books to the used bookstore.

There would have been pictures of the cat in addition to all the books, but every single time I aimed the camera at her, she either closed her eyes or quickly walked away. She knows what I’m trying to do. *laughs*

We gather around of those things we value. Some surround themselves with gold and diamonds. Others with memorabilia and ephemera... Others still with books. Never feel bad for buying a book!

Did you know that some people use the bookshelves to display things other than books? Boggles the mind, I know!! Also, your icon rocks my socks.

I wish I had bookpiles like that... (in fact, I might if my storeroom was in any state other than utter chaos). For now, I might just have to claim yours  Quite a few of those books look mighty familiar anyway :D
