The Funeral

Just got back from the funeral, along with the meal afterwards at our church.

The only bad part was when spiders invaded during the funeral. They were everywhere.

So Dad decided to station himself directly by my chair and stomp the ones that started to climb the back of that chair. And one that was on my back.

And my aunt killed the one that randomly came down from the top of the tent over the whole thing less than a foot away from me. *shudders*

They stopped coming in droves during our ex-preacher's brief discussion of my grandmother's life, but then they came back. And everyone left quickly.

Also, thanks to a neighbor that came bearing food, and the congregation that cooked and sent us home with a ton of stuff, we have so much food that we don't have enough space in the fridge.

And two gigantic poinsettias.

Sorry to hear about the spiders. Sounds like Athena or Anansi had an interest in your grandmother to me.

*hugs* I did not see the original post, so let me convey my sympathies here to you.

Glad that everything went well for the funeral, apart from the spider thing. At least they stopped for the part where you could learn a lot of your Grandmother's life. Maybe they were interested?

*hides you from the spiders*
