I always die in these things, is there any options to power up after you take a beating at the hands of Harriet Spy the Dalek?

From what I've seen, when the Dalek uses the plunger on you, you instantly die. The best thing to defeat it is to find a phaser that won't stun or teleport it away. Find the one that kills it instantly, which is really hard to find.

There's an option somewhere on the right side where--if you're near death--you can escape to your ship with all your booty.

And to power up again, look for the kit that heals you. And then look for the medibot things. While doing battle with them, you'll be sprayed with healing nanoparticles, and your score will continue to go up.
