2. I respond by asking you five personal questions so I can get to know you better.
3. Update your LJ with the answers to the questions.
4. Include this explanation and offer to ask someone else in the post.

1. On that vein, who's your favorite Ghostbuster?
I would have to say Egon.
2. I think I can tell favorite X-person, but why?
Ah, my icon might have been Kitty, but my favorite X-person would have to be a tie between her and Illyana. Kitty Pryde was the first comic character I thought was interesting when I was little, back when I first started reading X-Men. Illyana was simply fascinating, and I’ll pretty much read anything where she’s in it, regarding comics. She had a complex and compelling history, and a very interesting personality.
3. Current favorite song?
I don’t think I have one.
4. What's the DC pairing you just can't get enough of?
I haven’t read any DC pairings for quite a while, since I seem to have moved away from that fandom. I think I’ll say Batman/Catwoman.
5. Lace, cotton, silk, or synthetic?
Well, I’m allergic to lace and some synthetics. Silk is too expensive, so I’ll take cotton.

1. What do you like most about Illyana?
As I answered in the other question--Illyana was simply fascinating, and I’ll pretty much read anything where she’s in it, regarding comics. She had a complex and compelling history, and a very interesting personality. She was de-aged and killed off way too soon.
2. Is it the Rasputin family as a whole?
Not really, since without Illyana I just don’t really care for Piotr. Except when he’s around her or Kitty, I don’t usually find him that interesting. Also, I don’t think I’ve ever read a comic with Mikhail Rasputin in it--was he in New Mutants: Truth or Dare? I might have run across him once in that.
3. Which comic company did you start in?
Marvel Comics would have to be the first I remember. However, I recently found some old comics that I apparently had when I was little--one was Wonder Woman, and the other was The Incredible Hulk. The only one that ever truly stuck with me and made me a Marvel fan was the issue of Uncanny X-Men when the X-Men and Kitty were in space, and possibly going to die from the Brood. It was the first issue where Lockheed appears, and Kitty is fascinated by him. I liked it, and stuck with it for many years. I'm not sure what issue number it was, though.
4. Favorite book of all time?
There are so many. Probably The Dracula Tape, by Fred Saberhagen. A more recent one that I love is Bruce Campbell’s autobiography called If Chins Could Kill--and his second fake bio called Make Love The Bruce Campbell Way.
5. Heels, slings, sandals, or tennies?
Tennis shoes for me. Sandals hurt my feet, and I have never had the occasion to wear heels. Never worn slings, and I hadn’t heard of those before, either.

1. If you could be one of the nine muses would you be Calliope or one of the others?
Yes, likely Calliope due to the fact that I like stories and epics. I've always loved myths.
2. What's your favorite musical band?
I have never had a favorite band, since I don’t really go for the popular stuff.
3. If you could only read one book for the rest of your life, what would it be?
Well, I know I would likely go insane with only one book and no bookshelf in sight. Can I have a series? If so, the Dracula Series by Fred Saberhagen.
4. What's your all time favorite tv show?
There are so many. But the ones that have stayed favorites over the years are: Highlander, Dark Shadows, Buffy, Sherlock Holmes (with Jeremy Brett), and Firefly--those are just the ones I immediately thought of, but there are likely quite a few others. Heroes and Doctor Who seem to have joined this list, despite my not having watched them for that long. Heroes just this first season, and Doctor Who starting with the newest series.
5. What was your first fandom?
At the age of 4 I became obsessed with Ghostbusters. Does that count? However, the first time I actually tracked down message boards and fanfic was for Highlander. And the first time I got involved in fandom itself would have to be when I started posting over at TrekBBS.
And I’m linking to this poll again, just in case anyone hasn’t voted in it yet.

(For your something random, have the Lobster Quadrille:
"Will you walk a little faster?, said a whiting to a snail, there's a porpoise close behind us and he's treading on my tail.
See how eagerly the lobsters and the turtles all advance? They are waiting on the shingle, will come and join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, will you join the dance?
Will you, won't you, will you, won't you, won't you join the dance?")

2. Oh, I have tons. I'm in a Shakespeare mood at the moment, though, so: "If thus thou vanishest, thou tellest the world it is not worth leave-taking." from Antony and Cleopatra.
3. I have six! West Side Story, in which either "Somewhere" or "Tonight" is my favorite song, Camelot, in which "Guenevere" is my favorite, Phantom of the Opera, in which "All I Ask of You" is my favorite, at least at the moment, Sweeney Todd, in which "Poor Thing" is my favorite, Woman in White, in which "The Holly and the Ivy" is my favorite, and Dracula, in which "If I Could Fly" is my favorite.
4. Either "Dracula", "Lord of the Rings" or Alice in Wonderland/Through the Looking Glass."
5. At the moment...Werner Herzog's "Nosferatu."

Re: Lyrics from my current favorite song
1)Valentines day. Whats' not to love about candy and love and paganism and lil kids giving each other cards?
2)English! I loved the extensive conversations on the symbolism of stories, especially Shakespeare.
3.I don't have one...but I am seriously scared of zombies.
4. Depends on what time of the year it is- I love So You Think You Can Dance and Heroes. I identify with Hiro because no one ever really listens to him.
5. Ugh, I can't even remember the name of it! It had Bill Paxton and he was going around killing people and he had two sons and they killed him and then one of the boys killed the other...it was an hour and a half I'll never have back.

All of the above (I'm so greedy):
Lyric: "Ohh, I am a gypsy, death is a chain, like a cat in the window, staring out at the rain..."
Sandwich: Peanut butter, cucumber, havarti, and green apple with a drizzle of mint honey on a fresh pita. Dang, now I'm hungry.
Fish: koi. I like lots of bugs, particularly moths, fireflies, mantises, tarantulas, and beetles. Walking sticks are cool, too. As far as dogs go, I'm rather fond of wolfy-type dogs, like shepherds, huskies, malamutes, that kinda thing.
Something random: elves like chocolate
Whatever I like: "Well, what good is a freaking time machine if you can't aim it?! That is so unfair!"

1. What is your current favorite tv show, and why?
2. Who is your least favorite comic book character?
3. Most favorite comic character?
4. What is the spookiest thing that has ever happened to you?
5. What is your favorite scary or just really odd movie?
no subject
I like Doctor Who and Monk, mostly because the writing is surprising, the lead actors are appealingly clever, vulnerable, and tragically flawed, and there are crazy, awesome continuity details like "The Randy Disher Project" and Bad Wolf.
2. Who is your least favorite comic book character?
Well, not giving the easy answer of "one I don't read" leads me to examine the ones I _do_ read. I guess I always thought Superman was just too darn super. Consequently, I don't like Superboy or Supergirl much, although Power Girl is interesting. I never got into regular Green Lantern, although I like Kilowog and Guy Gardner as characters.
I have to admit a hatred of Maxwell Lord, or at least the Thing That Was Disguised as Maxwell Lord in Countdown. (The "real" Max would never have done such a thing.)
I've never really cared for The Fantastic Four, Hulk, or Thor, but I guess I like The Punisher even less.
3. Most favorite comic character?
Ted Kord. Yeah, that's obvious, ennit? I also like Death, Skywise, David (from Strangers in Paradise) and The Grey Mouser. John Constantine, Woody (from Zot!) and Animal Man used to rock, too.
4. What is the spookiest thing that has ever happened to you?
Wow. So many answers, so little space. Okay, I thought I was going to pass out from fear one time when I was utterly surprised by a huge column of black smoky matter with glowing red eyes in the living room of a house I used to live in. I left the house, really fast. Did not go back inside until my parents came home, hours later. Was horribly freaked out by it.
5. What is your favorite scary or just really odd movie?
Scary: An American Werewolf in London, Salem's Lot, or The Shining. I also rather liked The Blair Witch Project.
Really Odd: Brazil, Harold and Maude, or Primer, maybe. Or perhaps David Anderson's Door.
Good questions.
