Almost Lost A Finger...But I'm Fine
A few minutes ago, I reached over to push the fan on the table away without looking, while I was typing with the other one. I heard a terrible "CH-CHUNK!" and jerked my hand back.
I'm fine. My finger went through the tiny spaces and apparently touched the blade for a second. It cut the white portion of a finger nail in half, but didn't hurt me. I just trimmed it off.
*looks closer*
So I'm wrong. It just barely skinned a tiny spot on the right side of the finger. I'm not bleeding, though, and it doesn't even hurt. I've already put some alcohol on it.
Dad says the space between the blades of the fan is so small that I shouldn't be able to stick a finger in. I turned the fan off, waited for the blades to stop, and tried. We've decided it went in through the bottom half, since where it curves there is enough room for over half my finger.
On the lighter side of things, we're finally getting a tiny bit of rain.
Hmmm...the screaming icon seems the most appropriate. That, or an icon of Joe Dawson, which just screams irony since I wasn't very observant.

That's a scary thought.
It's amazing how much damage we can cause to ourselves by not paying attention to what we're doing. I remember slamming my hip hard into a door because I was paying more attention to the conversation than to where the door was.
But I'm glad that you're okay.

I've injured my hip like that back in high school--of course, the difference was I was standing at the top of a long set of bleachers, slipped on something, and bounced all the way down to the bottom. That time I was just sore.
A few months later, I was walking a few bleachers down, slipped, and ended up wedged in between two of the bleachers before wiggling and getting myself free. I fell down one more after getting out, and from about mid chest all the way down to my waist, it was black for a few weeks. Naturally, it happened the day before Spring Break at school.
Oh, and I just realized the finger that almost got chopped off is the same one that was jammed all the way into my hand during 10th grade. Everyone had to play volleyball, I reached up to hit it, and it rammed that finger all the way in. The football coach didn't care, and it was some severe pain, so I was forced to yank it back out and back to normal myself. It was black and swollen for two weeks. That was the day before Christmas vacation started.
That doesn't include what happened later that year, when I was just walking along minding my own business and was at the top step at the stairs in the gym, on the way to my next class. From nowhere a soccer ball hit me in the temple, (later found out that that's where most people get killed when they're hit at) I went falling down a flight of stairs, and sat there for a minute.
Crawled back up those stairs, and never dropped a single book I was carrying. No concussion. I've been told that someone shouted "Sorry!" (and that it was hit from the opposite side of the gym before suddenly going in my direction) but I never heard it since I was a little bit stunned.
This was all in my 10th grade year, by the way. Heh. Think I need a good luck charm?

Maybe being having you as a friend is hazardous to my health. lol
Good grief!
There are easier, and faster, ways to kill yourself if that's what you're trying to do. lol
