Doctor Who Stuff

I was looking through Doctor Who sites with fanfic recs, and ran across a fanfic version of season 4. Just thought there might be others on my friends list that hadn't run across it, so I just wanted to mention it.

It’s set right after season 3 (obviously, since it’s season 4) and there’s a twist. The Master didn’t die at the end of The Last of the Time Lords. He ends up stuck with The Doctor in the TARDIS for a while, and the ensuing storyline is incredible. I don’t want to spoil it for anyone, but it’s an amazing twist. Everyone is perfectly in character, and The Master is still delightfully evil and snarky. The entire thing is in the journal called [profile] dwseason4, but you can find each individual episode linked to here.

In other Doctor Who related stuff, I was going through Youtube the other day, and found a few things. First is apparently a blooper reel for season 2 of Doctor Who. Favorite moment: A Cyberman asks a random passerby for directions to the BBC. Moments later, it stands in a field and shouts (in the regular Cybermen voice) "I’m free! Free as a bird!" before twirling around in circles. The man on the bench who gave him directions just stares. *snorts* It’s located here.

I also found about 8 minutes of something called the Doctor Who Children In Need Special. It looks like a scene that was never shown on the U.S. at all, so it’s worth the watch. The Doctor is a bit insane after regenerating in the last few minutes of season 1. You can watch it here. So far I haven’t run across any fanfic based on that scene.

There is a very funny Comic Relief Doctor Who (waaaaaay before new series) where the Doctor ends up regenerating loads of times and finally ends up as Joanna Lumley!

The Doctor was also played by Hugh Grant, Richard E Grant and Rowan Atkinson in that skit. I watched it out of nostalgia's sake but I still got a few giggles :-)

*Looks shifty*

The blooper reel and the Children in Need special are extras on the Season 2 DVD set. At least in region one.

My favorite DOCTOR WHO gag reel on Youtube is this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfMh_5hy-48), from the Tom Baker years.

BAKER. "How long, K-9?"
K-9. "Insufficient data."
BAKER. "Yeah, you never fuckin' know the answer when it's important."

Tom Baker swears a lot in the outtakes I've seen. A lot.

*points and waves madly at your excellent idon* Cassidy! :D *has naughty thoughts about doctor/preacher fic*

The Children in Need scene was broadcast in November of the same year as season 1 on BBC as part of the telethon event for the BBC charity. FYI. :)
