Name a character from one of my fandoms and I'll give you (a) three facts about them from my personal canon/fanon, (b) a reason he/she sucks, (c) a reason he/she is awesomecakes, (d) five things that never happened to that character or (e) five people that character never fell in love with and why. You pick the character. I pick the letter.

In this case I'll do more than one--a and c.
For a:
-If Rose ever met Martha or Donna, they would probably all team up, become fast friends over how companions are treated, and terrify the Doctor.
-The Bad Wolf stuff was mostly the TARDIS--except for giving life to Jack. She wouldn't want him hurt, so that part was her input. She just didn't realize he would never be able to die. She would never have been that cruel.
-After Canary Wharf (was that the name of it?) Rose didn't pine away for the Doctor until the end of her days. While she would never stop loving him, she moved on, more than likely eventually joining that universe's Torchwood and pretty much becoming an alien expert. And I really don't know if her joining that Torchwood is canon or not, but I've read the idea in so many places that it's stuck with me.
Now, c:
-Even if the Doctor seemed to be facing overwhelming odds, Rose never stopped trying to help him. Not even when Nine dumped her back on Earth when the Daleks were going after the Game Station. Her opening the heart of the TARDIS and destroying the Daleks (albeit temporarily) is one of my favorite moments for her--and it actually made my Dad a Doctor Who fan, when I got him to watch the marathon on BBC America.

She was always able to see through lies, and get to the truth--and the fact that she's good at outsmarting enemies. She wasn't easily fooled. The perfect example of that is in Our Mrs. Reynolds, when she saw through Saffron's innocent act. And again, in Trash, when she outsmarted Saffron, locking her in the dumpster.
I had to head over to my old
"You know, I put on this big act and storm away in a huff, then I fly off, wait for you to double cross Mal, beat you to the rendezvous spot and grab the loot before you can get to it. What, you didn't see it coming?"

For a:
-Tara was disappointed that her death caused Willow to return to black magic and nearly destroy the world. She wouldn't have wanted that to be done because of her. However, she quickly became proud of Willow when she got things under control, and went to England with Giles. She became even more proud of her when she saved the world, closed the Hellmouth, and activated all the Slayers, without going evil once. Willow likely never knew she was watching.
-She was never ashamed or jealous of the fact that she wasn't strong with her magic. She worried so much about the power Willow had before she became addicted, and wouldn't have wanted that burden for the world. She was happy with minor spells of protection and the like.
-During the summer Buffy was dead, Tara grew to act like a mother for Dawn, helping out around the house as best she could, making sure everyone had eaten, and things like that. After the break-up, she expected to be completely out of the loop from then on. Well, except for when people needed advice or a shoulder to cry on. She never became bitter about this, though, and was very hopeful about the future when she and Willow finally began to reconcile.
For c:
-She grew from someone that was shy, very quiet, and stuttering, to someone that could stand up to her family when they tried to take her away from her new home. And she eventually had the strength to leave Willow when her trust was broken, and giving the two of them space to heal.
In addition to all that, she could kick demon butt with the best of them (shown at least once in the beginning of season 6) and she was a mother figure to almost everyone after Joyce died. Examples include taking Dawn out for milkshakes, and trying to help Buffy after her resurrection.
Yes, it's more than one reason why her character was great, but there were so many reasons I couldn't narrow it down to just one.
