Odd Day
A while back, there was a giant dog that lived down the street. He kept getting lose, and whenever he was near someone he would stare everyone down in a way that said he could take you down with one jump.
I named him Cujo, since he was so creepy. No word what his real name was, but he kept escaping and roaming the neighborhood. He was about eye level with me--I'm 5'2'', just so everyone knows. I don't think I kept everyone up-to-date on that whole thing--I probably just described it to
seandc.
Days passed, and the pound was called. The giant dog was taken away.
Months went by, and no need to worry about gigantic dogs going after my cat.
Today, Mom went outside because Toby was howling, and guess who's back? He's thinner, but I would know those scary eyes anywhere. It's Cujo. He had to have broken out of the pound, crossed a highway or two, and made it all the way across town.
Just...that shouldn't even be possible, should it?
Mom has now decided it's safer to carry a wooden baseball bat when she goes to get the mail. And I stand guard near the door with a giant umbrella, just in case.
In other news, I'll work on the banana pudding Doctor Who fanfic tomorrow, followed closely by the Martha and Jack sequel.
Oh, and here's a drabble I took from
svmadelyn.
Please comment with something you think I should do or try to do in 2008. Big or small, silly or earth-changing.

Something you should do? Hmm... Make a dress? I've always wanted to do one myself but since I can't sow to save my life, I thought I'd assign the task to someone else ;)

Everyone else picked all these complex patterns (not good for beginners) for the class, and I got the simplest, just in case I wasn't good at it. While everyone was lamenting the fact that theirs was hard, I sat in a corner and did everything I needed to.
I think I finished it something like a week early. It used to be in my room, but it's vanished. It might be somewhere in the attic now.
It was a tiny bit easier, since they taught everyone how to sew in an art class in 3rd grade. Of course, it was just one or two days. I actually remembered everything I learned.

That would be something to do this year, sometime soon. Another idea would be...um...learn Spanish? I know I need too X3

The owner was someone down the street. They let the dog starve and roam the neighborhood the last time around, since they were planning to get rid of him. Part of the reason why Dad called someone--it was right around Halloween, and we didn't want any trick-or-treaters to get eaten that time.
And Spanish, huh? Tried that in middle school, and one semester of high school. It's hard, but I should probably try to learn a bit of it again sometime.
And here's something weird. In middle school, I took 6 weeks of French, and got an A+. Shortly after school was out for the summer, we got a wrong number from someone in Canada. They only spoke French. Mom only spoke English.
So I actually talked to the lady on the phone, and translated everything Mom said into French, and everything the lady said into English. That French class came in handy, even if we only learned standard vocabulary words...
I've never been able to do fluent French again, so it was a weird thing. Mom was impressed, and I was amazed.

As far as something you should do in 2008... Does write more OT3 fic count? ;)

Last time around, I kept hearing Toby (neighbor's dog, who is the sweetest thing) howling, and went in the back yard. Toby started looking behind me, and growled. When I turned around, Cujo was probably 3 feet behind me, and just sort of glaring. I got back inside immediately.

*laughs* Yes, it likely does. I'll see what I can do on that front.

And YAY for more OT3!

Oh, and the one I'm using now suits Jack completely.
