Fannish Items Of Interest

For those interested, BBC America will be having a Monty Python’s Flying Circus marathon tomorrow, for Memorial Day. It begins at 7 AM, CST, I believe they said. I’ve never seen it before, so I’ll probably catch a few episodes.

In other news, Dad managed to run out and get a new microwave yesterday evening. So far, we’re trying to figure out the length of time we can keep things in without it burning, since it’s entirely different from the other one. Understandable, as that one had lasted 17 years. Mom tried to cook some bacon, and it burned up completely--so we’re going for a shorter amount of time, that won’t leave it as ashes.

For those that wish to vote, the Catseye PB poll is located here. The last I looked (in between dealing with a computer virus and a slew of Adware) it was at a tie for second. I’ll likely leave voting open until Wednesday.

Sadly, Dick Martin (of Laugh-In fame) has died, at the age of 86. I watched Laugh-In back when it aired on Nick at Nite in the early 80’s. May he rest in peace.

Another death comes with someone who was apparently going to be in an upcoming Harry Potter movie in a minor role. I’m not in the fandom, but some on my friends list likely are. Rob Knox was stabbed, and died at the age of 18.

Rob Knox had actually already filmed his role for HP6. Not that I'm in the fandom, but I was just reading that news on the BBC's news site...

Dick Martin is not allowed to die. I forbid it.
