The Dark Knight

I managed to go see The Dark Knight yesterday, and it was definitely incredible. Heath Ledger’s Joker is amazingly scary and he did a fantastic job.

As I’m not spoiling anything, or talking about anything that actually happened in the film, I won’t do an LJ cut for the next two things.

-Does anyone know if there’s a novelization of this? I checked Amazon, and Wikipedia, and didn’t find a mention of it.

ETA: Never mind. I found it through Amazon when I Googled "The Dark Knight novelization." It's written by Dennis O'Neil.

-The entire parking lot was filled at the theatre. Pretty much every there was there for The Dark Knight for what I could tell. When Heath Ledger’s Joker appeared on screen, a 2 year old in the audience screamed “It’s Joker!” Yes, someone actually brought their 2 year old there. The kid didn’t say anything else for the rest of the movie, so I’m wondering if he’s traumatized now.

Actually, the theater was filled with mostly teenagers and 8 year olds. Possibly two 5 year old girls, too, based on what I saw of the very back row. There were a few adults, but they were outnumbered by the kids.

In other news, the Nocturne PB poll is going to be closing on Sunday evening, so please go here to vote for your ideal choice before it does.

ETA: I'm also adding a few more altered images of both Caroline Dhavernas and Tina Majorino. Felicia Day doesn't have enough images out there for me to include anything else.

I remember being traumatized by Nicholson's Joker when I was like 10. I could not imagine taking small children to see The Dark Knight.

(Please note that I haven't seen it, I just expect it to be dark when I see it on Monday.)

Am really looking forward to seeing it. I've been anxious to see Heath Ledger's interpretation.

So, what you're really saying is, an entire generation of small children have been summarily traumatized by the widespread, pervasive assumption (by adults) that comics are kids stuff.

Well, duh. Everyone knows that comics are just kiddie picturebooks wearing daddy's shoes. Clearly, that news bit was safety-label alarmism.

Someone brought their two year old kid to see it? o.O Can we say irresponsible parenting? I don't think I would have let a ten year old see it. PG-13 my ass.
