It’s currently 115 degrees Fahrenheit outside right now, if you factor in the heat index.
And now, I’m passing along a meme, taken from most of my friends list:
1. Give me a list of THREE (or more) stories that I would NEVER write.
2. I will pick one of the story suggestions and may attempt to write a snippet.
3. Spread the meme on your own LJ if you want.
ETA: Turns out my uncle tried to mow his yard in this heat, and had a heat stroke. He's resting now, as of the last I heard.

One heat stroke for me is more than enough--I had one years ago.

Oddly enough, when I had that heat stroke it was because it was something like 89 or 90 degrees outside (in Memphis, for my sister's yearly doctor appointment) and the air conditioning wasn't working in that area of the restaurant. I felt fine, until we stood in line to pay for everything.
Then, I started seeing sparkles, was dizzy (and my ears were ringing), told Mom I couldn't see, and (since I had the layout of the place memorized after going there once a year for 17 years) staggered out their front door. It took a full blast of air conditioning in the car for me to feel a bit better. Went to a bookstore a little later that day, when it hit 100 degrees, and did the same thing.
So everyone decided I wasn't better after all, and we stayed in the motel. Ever since then, I take ice cold water with me whenever I go somewhere--even if it's just to put on the back of my neck, it helps.
The symptoms my uncle got sound pretty much like what I did, so he definitely had heat stroke.

The water carrying is an excellent idea. And ice on the neck (you should try on the top of your head as well if it ever happens again --- here's to hoping it doesn't!).
