Yuletide Letter

I signed up for Yuletide this morning, and this is the letter for whoever gets assigned me.

Just thought I would get this out of the way now, rather than later. It’s really long this year, as I decided to include the prompts I sent in, too. Due to that, it’s beneath the cut.

Dear Yuletide Writer,

I’m going to basically copy and paste a lot of what I said in last year’s Yuletide letter.

In case you’re not on my friends list or anything--hi, I’m Rachel, aka [personal profile] calliopes_pen. I love hurt/comfort and humor in my fanfic. As long as it isn’t a rocks fall, everyone dies (unless it suits the story) type of situation, or a PWP, I’m good.

So I see that you've been assigned me. First off, I want to thank you for choosing to write any of my requests. I’m sure you’ll do an excellent job, and just want to thank you in advance for whatever I happen to get and just for giving this a try in the first place.

And now, for the squicks portion of this letter. Just know that I do have a few squicks and/or rules, so no matter what you do, please do not include the following: BDSM, rape, incest, graphic smut/explicity sex (whatever you want to call it) or PWP in general. I think that covers almost everything.

I am equally fine with gen, het, or slash, as long as it isn’t what I mentioned above. However, if you want to do anything pairing free, that is fine with me. For me, the characterization is the most important aspect of the story, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s humor or angst or somewhere in between--so just do your best.

For anyone else who happens upon this letter, I requested something from one of these fandoms: Ghostbusters (movie), The Mummy series of movies, and/or Dracula, by Bram Stoker. I was very specific for each request, but it is not vital that you stick to it completely.

As I made two requests in the Ghostbusters fandom, you can pick either one, or both—I’m fine with either. It can be serious, or have elements of humor, or be horror focused. Go with what you feel comfortable with. I think I was really specific on both those prompts, so I don’t really need to clarify on them. Here’s each request, from the Ghostbusters fandom, for reference:

In the aftermath of defeating Gozer, everyone tries to find a new place to stay. Also, I would like it if Dana and Peter actually talked about what had happened with Zuul and everything.

And the second one.

Egon and Ray think they've found another Terror Dog sometime after the first movie, and worry about whether it's a sign Gozer will try again or if it's just a demon. Please have some humor in this. It doesn't have to be serious.

For the request from The Mummy series of movies: I do wish that it stick to sometime either during or after the second movie. I’m just looking for the repercussions of resurrecting Evie. Some elements of humor on occasion, if at all possible. Either possession, more reincarnation issues,or her turning out to be a zombie, or something along those lines. I prefer the possession angle. Go with your imagination, though, and have good characterization and I should be fine with it.

For reference for the curious , here’s the exact prompt for The Mummy fandom:

After the second movie. What if there were some serious repercussions of resurrecting Evie? What if she brought back something else, too?

Now, the last fandom. Dracula, by Bram Stoker. Somewhere in the novel, Van Helsing listed methods of killing vampires in general, as well as Dracula. However, the way that Harker and the others killed him was not one of those methods. A kukrie knife through the chest, and a slit throat, I believe it was, with him supposedly turning to dust. It happened at sunset, and one of his powers was an ability to turn into motes of dust. Have Van Helsing or the others eventually realize that, and take it from there. I’m fine with horror or suspense, if it happens to go in that direction.

For reference for the curious, here’s the exact prompt for the Dracula fandom:

Follows the end of the novel. What happens if Van Helsing believes Dracula might not be dead after all? Remember that he could turn to dust, and that knives weren't supposed to do damage. Please have some elements of humor to it as well, as I don't want it completely dark and devoid of hope.

A note to whoever has been assigned me. If you feel that you can't do the plots exactly as I've mentioned, just do the best you can. I'll be happy with anything from those fandoms. Also, there aren't any pairings that are a must in these requests.
